Tommy is a current member of the Slidell Police Department Reserve Division and volunteers countless hours protecting the citizens of Slidell. Tommy is a member of the Slidell American Legion Post #374. Additionally, he is a Master Mason and currently belongs to Kosmos Lodge #171 Free and Accepted Masons in Lacombe, Louisiana. He is a member of the Slidell Men of Steel non-profit which donates $12,000.00 per quarter to local charities or non-profit organizations. He is a board member of the Community Christian Concern Board, for Mayor Randy Fandal’s Wild Game Cook-Off annual event.
He is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain, and he and his wife, Susan, own a commercial fishing and charter business called Great Escape Fisheries. This business is frequently called on to donate time, funds, and charters to many non-profit organizations in St. Tammany Parish and in the City of Slidell. Additionally, he is a 9-year sponsor for the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity Rosie Program, not only supporting the program financially but also helping with builds. He is an active member of the the Krewe of Endymion and has served as a float lieutenant helping fill vacancies on his and other floats for the krewe. He was selected by the Slidell Women’s Civic Club as King Samaritan LXXII for the 2023 carnival season.
- Named Navy company honor man for Basic Recruit company #073. Selected for this prestigious award from sixty-four recruits in his company. This honor is given to the recruit who displays the highest standards of personal character, attention to detail, academic achievement, and leadership ability.
